In this course, students will learn how to use Microsoft Excel to create and format spreadsheets that will assist in business decision making, financial planning and data analysis. By the end of this course, students will have the ability to create, format, edit, print and save worksheets that have headers/footers, images, and charts.

In this course, students will build on the skills learned in Excel Essentials. Students will gain practical experience in the use of Excel for formulas, calculations and analysis. In this course, students will be introduced to basic accounting principles and procedures associated with the role of an administrator. Throughout this course, students will have many opportunities to practice skills such as recording transactions, completing financial statements and preparing accounting documents for a company.

This software, geared towards small-medium sized businesses is a cloud based system that supports business payments, management of funds, payroll, and more. Using knowledge from previous courses on accounting principles, this course will guide students on how to reproduce accounting documents and financial tracking into a digital and accessible format.

  • Use QuickBooks to document cash and general transactions

The capstone project requires students to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program with practical application. The capstone project also provides an opportunity to demonstrate initiative, ethical reasoning, research skills, mastery of the subject matter, and a deeper understanding of the relation of the specialized subjects to the broader discipline of accounting.
