The Early Childhood Educator Level II program is a joint offering in partnership with Louis Riel Vocational. Students who desire careers as Early Childhood Educator IIs (ECE IIs) will acquire the knowledge and skills required to work with children, aged newborn to 12 years old, through this provincially accredited* and comprehensive diploma program.
Working closely with instructors and in groups, students develop their understanding of child development, guiding techniques, and play-based curriculum, including art, music, literature, and science, while learning to create and implement meaningful, age-appropriate, culturally diverse and inclusive programming for children.
Work practicum opportunities throughout the Early Childhood Education Diploma Program allow students to apply these lessons in various childcare settings (pre-schools, nursery schools, Head-start programs, as well as other child and family resource facilities) and master their skills working with children.
*This program is provincially accredited by the Child Care Qualifications and Training Committee (CCQTC) as meeting the qualifications for Early Childhood Educator Level II designation.
